PRIZES AND AWARD :
The students of the institution have participated events like children’s day and breast feeding week, Tuberculosis day, Mental Health Day etc. The students have received prizes and certificates for their best presentation and performance by the Dean, Madurai Medical College.
PRIZES AND AWARD CONSTITUTED BY THE SCHOOL:
1. The school has various students committees for welfare the students. Best committee will receive prizes and certificates every year by the Dean, Madurai Medical College.
2. Best out going student and rank holders awards will be issued by the school every year.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CANDIDATES
Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu
Candidates who have studied from VIII to XII standards in schools in Tamil Nadu need not enclose the “Nativity Certificate”.
Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu but studied from VIII to XII either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the “ Nativity Certificate”.
The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format available in the Prospectus and supported by a copy of passport ration card / Birth Certificate. If the copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application from will be rejected . Nativity Certificate submitted later will be summarily rejected.
Application without a Nativity Certificate will not be considered.
Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted.
Minimum age will be 17 years and maximum age limit is 35 years
Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the higher secondary Certificate examination (Academic) Conducted by the Tamil Nadu state board / any other equivalent board with any group of the subjects.
Candidates who have already completed Diploma in Nursing Course are not eligible to apply.
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY MARKS:-
OC, BC, BCM and MBC Candidates- Minimum education 10+2 class any group with minimum 40% marks.
SC/SCA/ST Candidates - Minimum education 10+2 class any group with minimum 35% marks.
Candidates should have studied Tamil as the first language and English as the second language.
METHOD OF SELECTION AND ADMISSION:-
Selection will be made on merit basis of total marks of the subjects (excluding languages) obtained in +2 examination calculated to the base of 100 marks by the eligible Candidates.
DETERMINATION OF RANK OF CANDIDATES OBTAINING EQUAL MARKS:
In cases where two or more Candidates obtain equal total marks of the subjects (excluding Tamil and English) for 100, the rank of such Candidates shall be determined on the basis of the following order:-
Percentage of marks in nursing as Vocational/ Academic subject.
Marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together in +2 Examination.
Marks in Physics and Chemistry taken together in +2 Examination.
Number of attempts in Higher Secondary Course.
Date of Birth-Weightage will be given to seniority in age .
Computerized random number assigned. Higher value of random number will be taken in to consideration.

The Candidates will be called for counseling as per their merit and they may exercise their option as per their eligibility norms mentioned in the prospectus
CATEGORIES OF SEATS: Students will be admitted under the following categories on merit basis.
Category - I Stipendiary
Category - II Non- Stipendiary.
The stipend will be paid to the Nursing students as follows:-
Stipend Rupees per mensem
First year 400.00
Second year 440.00
Third year 480.00
Internship (6 month) 500.00
The rate of stipend is liable to be revised at any time without prior notice.
DURATION OF THE COURSE:-
Three and a half years including six months Internship (As per norms fixed by Indian Nursing Council/ Government)
TUITION & OTHER FEE:-
Non stipendiary Candidates have to pay the tuition fee of Rs.200/- per year and accommodation charge of Rs.20/- per mensem.
Candidates who have the selected under Orthopaedically disabled category are exempted from paying the Tuition fee and special fee.
All the Candidates should pay mess charges, etc.
All the selected Candidates should stay compulsorily in the Hostel during the entire period of study.
The Candidates have to undergo Medical examination by the Medical Board constituted at the Training Centre to which they are allotted. Only those Candidates found medically fit will be admitted and be permitted to pay the fee.
Candidates selected for admission will have to sign the discipline declaration forms with her Parent/ Guardian .Failure to sign the declaration will result in cancellation of selection
