COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, MADURAI MEDICAL COLLEGE

Madurai Medical College is a premier institution founded in 1954 by the Tamil Nadu Govt. The institution started offering Pharmacy programmes by first offering Diploma in Pharmacy in the year 1959, Bachelors of Pharmacy in 1963 and Masters of Pharmacy in the year 1974. The doctoral programme was recently added. The Dept. of Pharmacy was changed to College of Pharmacy, Madurai Medical College, Madurai in the year 2008 and is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and is affiliated to the TN Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai – 32.
We are extremely proud of the positive impact that many of the MMC alumni now hold prominent positions in industry, academic, clinical, both in India abroad.

      The academic activities of the College of Pharmacy involve teaching for the Diploma, Degree and Post Graduate Degree programmes. The final year B. Pharmacy students are guided by the staff through a project work and the Final M. Pharmacy students are guided through research for the dissertation work

Miss DHANALAKSHMI – was awarded Third Prize for the best dissertation in the specialization of Pharmacognosy for the year 2011 by the Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Welfare Trust..
Miss KOKILA– was awarded Second Prize for the best dissertation in the specialization of Pharmaceutics for the year 2011 by the Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Welfare Trust.

CME’s WORKSHOPS/CONFERENCES CONDUCTED

A work shop was conducted for final B. Pharmacy students on “Career opportunities and options available for Pharmacy students” on 9.5.2012. The Speakers were Mr. Malarkannan HR Executive , IKON Clinical Research Institute , Singapore and Mr. Jayan,

  1. A Regional Level Quiz Competition was held on 5.11.11 
  2. The College of Pharmacy conducted National Pharmacy Week Celebrations from 21.1.11 to 29.11.11. During the Pharmacy Week Celebrations Sports, Cultural Programmes were conducted for the pharmacy students and prizes were distributed. Certificates were also issued to students who had excelled in academic activities. 
  3. A seminar was conducted on 28.11.11. Dr. Kavimani Professor of Pharmacology, College of Pharmacy, Mother Theresa Institute of Paramedical Sciences delivered a lecture.

  2. The College of Pharmacy conducted National Pharmacy Week Celebrations from 21.1.10 to 29.11.10. During the Pharmacy Week Celebrations Sports, Cultural Programmes were conducted for the pharmacy students and prizes were distributed.   1. A seminar was conducted on 28.11.10. Dr. Sriram Professor of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences delivered a lecture.

  1. A Regional Level Quiz Competition was held in November 2009. Two of students won the Regional quiz competition and represented the College in the finals held at College of Pharmacy Madras Medical College and won the first prize at the State Level. 
  2. The College of Pharmacy conducted National Pharmacy Week Celebrations from 22.11.09 to 29.11.09. During the Pharmacy Week Celebrations Sports, Cultural Programmes were conducted for the pharmacy students and prizes were distributed. Certificates were  also issued to students who had excelled in academic activities.
